Captured at what appears to be a family celebration, this photograph shows two members of the Onigbanjo family sharing a relaxed, joyful moment together. The warmth between them is visible without needing explanation — it is the ease of people who have known each other across years and gatherings, who have sat at the same tables and shared the same stories. Family reunions within the Onigbanjo lineage serve a purpose beyond celebration. They are the occasions on which the oral history is passed on, where younger generations hear for the first time the name of the Sheik, the story of Sinotu, and the branches of the family tree that stretch from Lagos to every corner of Nigeria and beyond. The gold balloons visible in the background suggest a milestone being marked — a birthday, an anniversary, or a gathering called simply because the family decided the time had come to be together again. Every such gathering adds another layer to the living archive of the Onigbanjo descendants.
